3rd & 4th Grade Flag Football League

Our 3rd & 4th Grade Flag Football League is designed to develop football skills and knowledge to prepare kids for 5th grade tackle football. The focus of this league will be passing, catching, route running, and the fundamentals of both offense and defense. Game play will consist of six players per side and will follow traditional flag football rules.

To start the season, coaches will divide players into six equal teams. The season will consist of one practice and one game per week for each team. Games and practices will take place at the Upper Fields at Marquette Senior High School, located above the high school football field.

The season will run for approximately eight weeks and include six regular season games followed by an end-of-season playoff tournament.

Schedule

Evaluation Period: 7/22

Practices:
Mondays
• 5:30–6:30 PM or
• 6:45–7:45 PM
(Practice time will depend on each team’s schedule.)

Games:
• Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
• Thursdays at 5:15 PM or 6:30 PM
(Game times will vary depending on the team and week.)

Parents will receive their team’s complete practice and game schedule once teams have been finalized.

Equipment

Shorts or Sweatpants

• No pockets (to prevent finger and hand injuries)

Mouth Guard

• Required
• The YMCA will provide personal mouth guards for participants who do not wish to purchase their own.

Cleats

Belt & Flags

• The YMCA will provide all belts and flags for practices and games.

Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for volunteer coaches. The registration fee will be waived for children of parents who volunteer as coaches. Must be able to pass a background check and have knowledge of the game of football.
