Job Title: Lead BAS Teacher (Site Supervisor) Part-Time

Reports to: Child Development Director

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead BAS Teacher is responsible for lesson planning and for establishing and maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedure in harmony with the mission statement and policies of the YMCA of Marquette County

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Plan, set up and instruct lessons as assigned

2. Establish and maintain a learning environment that is engaging, developmentally-appropriate, safe and sanitary

3. Meet the emotional and developmental needs of each child

4. Model, facilitate and explain appropriate child and adult behavior

5. Positively address and redirect inappropriate behavior in children

6. Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance

7. Maintain participant records and other documentation in accordance with state licensing and program requirements

8. Communicate with families daily about child’s day, how they are doing developmentally, and how they are taking on leadership roles in classroom

9. Endure safety and cleanliness of classroom, equipment and facilities

10. At the discretion of the Child Development Director, attend all staff meetings workshops, and seminars to increase knowledge and skills and complete 24 hours of annual continuing education to meet state and national licensing rules and accreditation standards.

11. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures

12. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary

13. Endure you are meeting families communication styles ( email, text, paper ETC)

14. Support and mentor assistant teachers in your classroom

15. In collaboration with Child Development Director, provide guidance and adherence of all state, NAEYC and YMCA policies and procedures for all assistant teachers in your classroom

16. Handles and resolves family concerns and informs Child Development Director of unusual situations or unresolved issues

17. Provides assistant teacher with supportive, cooperative classroom environment that includes sharing all routine tasks ( such as dishes, cleaning, sanitizing, sorting, filing, and organizing)

18. Share information with parents that will improve their learning and development and connect them to programs in the community

19. Exemplify the YMCA mission and values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility in all aspects of job performance and interactions/relationships with others.

20. May be responsible for opening and/or closing the center and maintaining security and safety of the premises, including responsible use and secure handling of building key and proper operations of the building security system and maintaining all opening and closing procedures as outlined by classroom binders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Must have High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

3. 480 hours of experience working as a caregiver in program serving school age children

4. Completed 15 clock hours, 1 semester hours, or 1.5 CEU’s of documented school age training.

5. Previous experience and education in Early Childhood Development is desired

6. Must become CPR and First Aid certified.

7. Must provide a negative T.B. clearance

8. Must have Federal fingerprinting done with a clear criminal background.

9. Must take Health and Safety training courses, and YMCA New Employee Orientation training within 30 days of hire

The YMCA of Marquette County is hiring for a part time Before and/or After School assistant teacher for our KI Sawyer site and Gilbert site in Gwinn. This position is responsible for building positive relationships with families, staff, children and communities, helps follow and meet licensing regulations, and YMCA policies, meet and provide professional development requirements and has strong leadership skills.

Previous experience working with children is desired. Must be knowledgeable in child development; caring, honest, respectful, responsible and enjoy spending time with school age children.

The maintenance staff is responsible for keeping the YMCA building, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and functional manner. The health and safety of our members is paramount. Cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment is critical to our success as a business. The overall impression our guests receive should be positive at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  2. Excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prior experience in maintenance and/or janitorial work is preferred.
  2. Must have a friendly, outgoing and helpful personality, along with an understanding of working with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to multitask is essential.
  3. Must be able to operate various types of cleaning equipment, including, but not limited to: floor finishers, vacuums, carpet extractors, ladders, and general cleaning equipment and standard hand tools.
  4. Must have good command of the English language to take direction, write work orders, and read and understand chemical labeling and material safety sheets.
  5. Must be able to work in awkward, cramped or poorly lit areas, stand for periods of up to four hours, have sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools and cleaning equipment, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  6. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
  7. Be consistently on time, help substitute. Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the West End Coordinator and the Membership Director, West End Member Well-being staff (is this member or wellness) will assist with day to day operations and responsibilities of the front desk along with providing fitness orientations and programming, and assist and supervise members in the wellness center. They will help build community in our organization while emphasizing safety, fun, and effectiveness. Through training, staff will gain a general knowledge of all programs, equipment, membership, special events, and general facility information needed to answer questions, concerns, and be able to promote all the above to members and guests.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  2. Provide the best customer service to all members and guests visiting the facility by assisting with all comments and concerns people may have and by promoting all programs and services provided by our organization.

  4. For safety and for the preservation of equipment monitor wellness to be sure that equipment is being used properly and exercises are being performed correctly.

  7. Have knowledge of all facility programs, events, and activities offered by the organization.

Description: Under the supervision of the Membership Director, Member Service Representatives will assist with all day to day operations and responsibilities of the member service desk. Through training, staff will gain knowledge of all programs, membership, special events, and all other general facility information needed to answer questions, concerns, and be able to promote all the above to members and guests. POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Youth and Family Coordinator, the tot watch attendant will responsible for providing child-care services while parents are using the facilities or participating in programs.  They will provide for the care of Tot-Watch participants, including the physical and emotional well-being of each child as well as their personal safety.  The Tot-Watch attendant will ensure a quality experience for participants in a safe, clean and loving environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide childcare while ensuring a quality play experience in a safe, clean and loving environment.
  2. Interact with children in a joyful, sensitive, and positive manner.
  3. Communicate and develop good rapport with the parents and welcome them and their children by name

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Director, the Kid’s Gym Attendant will  provide supervision, leadership and skill development, and will be a positive role model to all Kids’ Gym participants.  This position is responsible for the safety and well-being of each participant, mentally and physically as well as ensuring all rules and guidelines are being followed by the participant. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Interact with children in a joyful, sensitive and positive manner by learning their names and greeting them every time they come.
  2. Develop a good rapport with the parents and communicate positive and negative behaviors when necessary.
  3. Use positive behavior management to maintain control of the room, be a positive role model, and ensure children and parents are exhibiting positive behaviors.
  4. Continually monitor entire area and clear it of safety hazards to keep activities safe at all times.
  5. Ensure that all participants are following the rules and guidelines and using all equipment in the correct way.
  6. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required by supervisor.
  7. Perform as an active leader and participate in games and activities while on duty including building forts, creating obstacle courses and any other active games.
  8. Perform all duties on the daily and weekly checklists and perform head counts every half hour.
