Welcome to the YMCA!
At the YMCA of Marquette County, we have a vision to connect with people, connect with youth and connect with our community. We aim to foster an inclusive society that welcomes everyone – regardless of background, circumstances or abilities. By participating in YMCA programs you can grow, learn and give back to your community. To find out more about what’s happening at the Y, please read Y Matters, a publication for members and friends of the YMCA of Marquette County.
New hours effective July 1, 2009
Beginning July 1, the YMCA of Marquette County in Marquette will change its facility hours to the following:
Monday – Thursday: 5 AM – 8 PM
Friday: 5 AM – 7 PM
Saturday: 7 AM – 6 PM
Sunday: 10 AM – 3 PM
These new hours, recommended by our management team and approved at the June Board of Directors meeting, will continue until further notice.
This change is a reflection of the decline in use in recent weeks, as well as in past summers, and our commitment to being good stewards of our resources.
We are confident that you will understand the necessity of this change. We will continue to closely monitor our operations and to make responsible decisions.
Your comments are welcome: please complete a comment card, available in the lobby, or see any management team member.
The hours for the Pool, Skate Park, Y Lounge, Kidz Zone and Kids’ Gym will change on July 1, as well. Negaunee facility hours will remain unchanged. Current schedules for both facilities and all areas are available at the front desk or on the Locations page.
Membership for All
Finances have you stressed? We pledge to turn no one away due to inability to pay! Thanks to many generous donors, our annual Strong Kids Scholarship campaign raises funds to make the YMCA accessible to all.
People with a low annual household income are eligible to take part in this program. Through Strong Kids, we have designed a scale to fit each individual’s financial situation. A monthly membership rate will be established based on a sliding scale for lower income levels. Program scholarships are also available.
How to apply:
Complete the Scholarship Application and provide financial and other information about your household. Based on the information that you provide, the Strong Kids committee will determine your membership rate. You may also qualify to receive assistance for you & your family to participate in programs at a reduced rate. For more information, contact Stacey O’Neill by e-mail or at 906-227-9622.
