Our 3rd and 4th Grade Flag Football League will aim to develop football skills and knowledge to prepare kids for 5th grade tackle football. The focus of this league will be passing, catching, route running and the fundamentals of both offense and defense.  Game play will consist of five players per side and be consistent with traditional flag football rules.

To start the season, coaches will evaluate all players and divide them up into 4 equal teams of 8 kids per team. The season will consist of one practice and one game per week. Games and practices will take place at the “upper fields” at Marquette Senior High School in the area up above the High School football field. The season will run for approximately 8 weeks and include 6 regular season games and an end of the season playoff.

Schedule: 

Evaluation Period: July 29th & 31st from 5:30pm-7pm

Practices: Tuesday’s @ 5:30pm-6:30pm -or- 6:30pm-7:30pm (depending on team)

Games: Thursday’s @ 5:30pm -or- 6:45pm (depending on team/week)

Parent’s will get full practice/game schedules once they are put onto a team

Equipment: (basic list of flag football equipment needed)

  • Without pockets to prevent finger/hand injuries
• Mouth guard
  • YMCA will provide personal mouth guards for those who do not wish to purchase their own

  • YMCA will provide all belts and flags for both games and practices

*NEEDED: Volunteer coaches and paid High School referees. We will waive the playing fee for kids of parents who volunteer to coach. Please email [email protected] to inquire for both positions.
