Youth Council Open House
NEW! Are you interested in joining the Youth Council? Do you want to see what it is all about? Then join us for our Open House!! Meet the current youth council members, socialize, see what events we have coming up and give us your ideas. We will have snacks, music and games.

Youth Council
Do you want to have a say in what happens here at the Y? Do you want to plan monthly events like dances, youth nights and co-ed sports competitions? The YMCA is looking for youth to meet twice per month to help plan and set up our youth events. This is a great opportunity for young adults to learn leadership skills and team building in a positive environment.

Youth Nights
Come spend your Saturday night at the Y when it closes and have the place to yourselves. Each month we will have a different event planned by our Youth Council including dances, sports competitions and contests.

Uniquely Me
This weekly class will help girls deal with the challenges they face everyday in an environment tailored to their wants, needs and feelings. Girls will learn about self image, self esteem, their own personalities, conflicts, bullying and anything else that they bring up along the way. Our trained and caring staff remember what these years were like and want to provide these girls with the tools to help them get through it in a positive way. We will have various guest speakers and volunteer opportunities as well.

Volunteer Youth Counselors (VYC)
Participants may choose to be a VYC for our Half and Full Day Adventures or our six-day spring break camp. VYC's will learn leadership skills and gain important job experience as they become role models for school-aged children. Participants receive on-the-job training in planning daily activities, problem solving and child care development skills, which prepare them to be future camp counselors. Interested participants must fill out an application and interview for the position. This program not only keeps teens active when school is out but gives them a positive place to be that helps prepare them for the future.

Teen Personal Training
Are you interested in having a personal trainer? Call the Health and Fitness Director at 227-9622 for details.
